For the Cake:

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup buttermilk

- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup Chantilly cream

Instructions



To make the cake: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated. Add in the vanilla and mix until combined.

Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour. Stir in the Chantilly cream. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack to cool completely before frosting.

To make the frosting: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the Chantilly cream and vanilla and mix until combined.

Spread the frosting between the two cakes and over the top and sides. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
